Healthy Smoothie Recipes

10 ounces of washed, fresh strawberries, chopped
2 ripe (but not mushy) bananas
3/4 cup of skim or low-fat milk
1 cup of ice cubes
3 teaspoons of honey or sugar

Peel bananas. Remove any strings or overly ripe sections.

Add 1/2 of strawberries and banana to blender, and then add 1/2 of the milk.

Blend on a low setting until smooth. Gradually add in the sugar, ice cubes and the remaining milk. Blend for two minutes or until smooth. Makes 3 healthy smoothies.



Sugar Free Banana Smoothie

Sugar Free Banana Smoothie

2 bananas, ripe
1/2 cup equal, no calorie sweetener
1 cup plain non-fat yogurt
1 cup ice cubes
3 tbsp. lemon juice

Peel and chop bananas and add to blender.

Add in yogurt, no calorie sweetener, lemon juice and ice cubes.

Cover and blend on low speed for two minutes.

Serve chilled. This makes approximately three four-ounce servings.



Healthy Tropical Delight Smoothie

1 ripe mango, peeled
1 cup fresh pineapple, chopped
1/2 cup non-fat milk
1 cup non-fat vanilla yogurt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 pineapple wedge, for garnish

Chop mango and pineapple and add to blender.

Add in milk, sugar and yogurt. Blend on pulse speed for two minutes. Stir.

Blend an additional two minutes.

Serve chilled in tall glasses. Add pineapple wedge to rim of glass for garnish. This makes two eight-ounce smoothie servings.
